David's service to the communities in which it operates extends beyond the front doors of its stores. We have a long history of proudly community organizations and interests.
Every Christmas season, David's Financial Corp. and its employees sponsor a gift drive for children thru the Salvation Army. Gifts given to children who would otherwise not be able to ebjoy and celebrate the Christmas season are helped by our cooperation with the Salvation Army.
holiday stocking raffle
Each holiday season every David's location conducts a raffle for both customers and non-customers, given everyone the opportunity to win a giant toy-filled stocking, extra stocking are donated to the Salvation Army to benefit local families.
David's has also been a generous contributor to its industry association, Financial Service Centers of New York (FSCNY) annual scholarship program. Since the scholarship's inception in 1996 more than half a million dollars has been awarded to high school seniors representing New York City and the surrounding New York State Metropolitanarea, helping nearing 250 deserving students attend Ivy Leage and other selective universities and colleges.
financial literacy program
David's has spearheaded an education initiative to improve financial literacy among second graders N.Y.C, through a partnership with its industry trade organization. The Financial Service Center of New York, American Credit Alliance and New York City's Department of Education. The collaboration provides educational tools to elementary school teachers to help them instruct young students about saving, spending and sharing money. Since inception 2,350 students in 18 schools in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronxhave received this unique financial education. The program has been such a great success that 125 additional schools have expressed a desire to participate in the program.
